Dentures are removable dental appliances that replace missing teeth and the surrounding tissue. They are designed to closely resemble your natural teeth and may even enhance your smile.
Complete or Partial Dentures?
Partial Dentures
Partials work well for patients who are missing some but not all of their natural teeth.
We design dentures to provide comfort, functionality, and esthetics.
Complete Dentures
Full dentures provide an option for patients missing all of their teeth on their upper or lower arch.
This provides an alternative for patients so that they can eat, speak properly, and maintain their facial structure.
Conventional or Immediate?
Complete dentures may be either 'conventional' or 'immediate'.
Conventional Dentures
Conventional dentures are made and fitted once any teeth that remain in the mouth have been removed, and the gum tissue has finished healing.
This typically takes 4 to 6 weeks.
Immediate Dentures
Immediate dentures are made in advance to extraction and and immediately placed after the teeth are removed. The benefit of immediate dentures is that they prevent the patient from having to be without teeth during the healing process.
Once the tissues shrink and heal, the dentist will make adjustments to the denture to ensure a snug, comfortable fit.
