What should I eat while I get used to my new dentures?

What should I eat while I get used to my new dentures?

Our Surrey dentists at Guildford Smiles Dentistry, understand that it's going to take some time and practice to adjust to eating with your new dentures in. So, today we are sharing a few soft-food suggestions to help you along the way.

Meal Planning

After you have had your tooth extraction, and when you first get your new dentures, you will need to stick to a diet of liquids and soft foods until your mouth heals, and you've had time to adjust to eating while wearing your dentures.

In order to prepare yourself for this period of adjustment our Surrey BC dentists recommend that you stock your fridge with soft-foods you like, before the process begins. Stocking up on a selection of soft foods you enjoy, and preparing a few ready-made meals will help you to continue eating well, as you get used to your new teeth.

While it can be difficult to temporarily change your regular diet and eating habits, there is a huge selection of soft-foods that can be combined to make fast, delicious and nutritious meals you are bound to enjoy. Some of our favourites include avocado and scrambled eggs, macaroni and cheese, lentil dal and rice, or soft cooked tofu with noodles and veggies. Below are a few soft foods you may want to stock up on before your denture process begins.
